Screenshots of the resolution filed by Rep. Anthony Ogles (R-Tenn.) were posted to the X platform by POLITICO’s Olivia Beavers. They accuse Harris of “high crimes and misdemeanors” in response to her handling of the migrant crisis as “border czar” and for allegedly misleading the American people about Biden’s physical and cognitive decline.
“Time and again, Kamala Harris has refused to uphold her oath to the U.S. Constitution, and she must be impeached,” Ogles told The Daily Caller. “Her breathtaking incompetence as Border Czar has allowed a crisis of drugs, rape, and murder to flood the streets of America.”
He also said she “knowingly breached the public’s trust by failing to invoke the 25th Amendment after it became clear that Joe Biden was mentally and physically unfit to serve as president,” and declared “immediate action must be taken.”
Ogles, who is running in the Republican primary in Tennessee’s 5th Congressional District on August 1 and has received an endorsement from former President Donald Trump, previously introduced articles of impeachment against Biden and Harris last year.
Earlier on Tuesday, Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), the third-ranking House Republican, introduced a resolution that would have the GOP-led House condemn Harris for her failure as the Biden administration’s “border czar” to resolve the migrant crisis.
The resolution “strongly condemns the Biden Administration and its Border Czar, Kamala Harris’s, failure to secure the United States border.”
It also “affirms that the American people deserve elected officials who understand the gravity of the crisis at the border and who will execute the policies to fix the border crisis.” The resolution “clearly and firmly states that the continuation of the Biden, Harris border policies would be disastrous for both the United States and the American people.”
In March 2021, around two months after Biden and Harris took office, he tasked her with addressing the then-mounting illegal immigration and border security crisis, which Republicans blame on Biden’s mass reversal of former President Donald Trump’s successful policies his first day in office. At the time, Harris said her objective would be to “address the root causes…that cause people to make the trek.”
In the years since, however, illegal migrant crossings have hit and broken several records, and the issue of illegal immigrant crime and overcrowding in major cities has become a massive 2024 campaign issue, which plays to Trump’s favor.
Trump 2024 national press secretary Karoline Leavitt says First Lady Jill Biden should be held accountable for “elder abuse” with her husband, arguing that many can now see his noticeable decline in mental acuity, which also left many Americans concerned about Joe’s ability to continue serving as president.
“The majority of the American public agree with that. Jill Biden doesn’t because, I guess, she doesn’t want to be a loving wife and go take care of her husband in Delaware, which is what she should be doing,” Leavitt said.
“And I think the media, it’s time for them to finally step up after they’ve been complicit in this cover-up by the Democrat Party over the last four years and ask really tough questions of Jill Biden and of the Biden family about what they know about our president’s state. Clearly, Jill Biden obviously knows her husband better than anyone else in this country, in this world, and she too continues to lie to the American people. It really is shameful. She’s been engaging in elder abuse, and she should be held accountable for that,” Leavitt added.
Leavitt also said that the Democratic Party has been “exposed” for maintaining that Joe Biden is mentally sound and able to serve another term as president.
