While Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O\u2019Neal never tied the knot to officiate their love story, the couple had an incredibly strong relationship that was intense and enduring.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Neal\u2019s relationship with Fawcett ended in 2009 when she died of\u00a0cancer<\/a>. The actor was by her side when she took her last breath. Earlier this month, O\u2019Neal himself passed away. His death was said to have been caused by congestive heart failure.<\/p>\n

After Faecett\u2019s death, O\u2019Neal publicly spoke of his regrets about their relationship. He said he felt he did not get enough time with her. As a way to perhaps fulfill his wish to have been able to get more time with the late actress, he was\u00a0buried<\/a>\u00a0next to her at Pierce Brothers Westwood Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

While it is no secret that the late power couple had their fair share of issues, they were also incredibly attached to one another. Their relationship suffered due to O\u2019Neal\u2019s infidelity and volatile behavior.<\/p>\n

Despite the issues they had, the two of them were by each other\u2019s side through thick and thin. Farrah took care of O\u2019Neal when he was diagnosed with leukemia, and he had been by his side when she was battling cancer.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would have been much kinder, more understanding, more mature. I\u2019d lose some of the savagery. I don\u2019t know how she got cancer; maybe some of it was me,\u201d O\u2019Neal said to\u00a0People\u00a0<\/em>magazine about his regrets. \u201cThere was never a day I didn\u2019t love her.\u201d<\/p>\n

The couple shared a son together, Redmond. O\u2019Neal had promised Fawcett that he would take care of their son. However, according to reports, O\u2019Neal had tried to reach out to his now-troubled son but was unable to meet him before his passing. \u201cRyan has made a lot of mistakes in his life, but his greatest sorrow is not being able to honor his vow to Farrah,\u201d an insider\u00a0shared<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Their son, Redmond, is currently in incarceration.
