JD Vance to someone else.<\/p>\n<p>But Frank Luntz, a renowned pollster who has been anti-Trump, said that is not the case.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to CNN he said that Sen. Vance appeals to a part of the electorate that the former president needs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe chose to double down. And J.D. Vance comes from the background that Trump\u2019s focusing on, so he\u2019s credible. And he\u2019s got the language because this is how he grew up,\u201d he said. \u201cTo me, the most important segment of the population, the one that makes or breaks, are these paycheck-to-paycheck voters, people who have jobs, they\u2019ve been working, they may not be college graduates, and they\u2019re struggling. And it represents one-fourth of the American electorate. Normally, they vote Democrat over Republican by about two to one. Trump brought it to three to two, even closer. That segment, if they break for Harris, she\u2019s the next president. If Trump can keep them, he\u2019s the next president.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJ.D. Vance appeals to them because \u2026 it\u2019s who he was. It\u2019s not a segment we talk about. It\u2019s not a segment we see. I get them in focus groups because I go out to these states, but they are really suffering,\u201d he said. \u201cThe economy is not doing well for them. These are not shareholders, these are not people who have a cushion. If they get fired or one check doesn\u2019t work, they could lose their homes, they could lose their cars. And we are very sympathetic towards them as a country. Eisenhower made Richard Nixon his running mate in 1952.\u00a0\u00a0Seventy-five percent (75%) of Republican voters approve of Vance as their party\u2019s VP choice, including 52% who Strongly Approve. Vance also gets approval from 30% of Democrats and 48% of voters not affiliated with either major party,\u201d the report said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe survey of 995 U.S. Likely Voters was conducted on July 15-16, 2024 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +\/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFifty-two percent (52%) of whites, 40% of black voters, 55% of Hispanics and 47% of other minorities approve of Vance as the Republican vice-presidential candidate,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n<p>Vance got the approval of 54 percent of men, 47 percent of women, 47 percent of voters under for 40 and 51 percent of those who were older in the survey.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-10\">Advertisement<\/p>\n<div id=\"ld-12578241793956198-359\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cFifty-two percent (52%) of self-identified conservative voters Strongly Approve of Vance as the GOP\u2019s vice-presidential candidate, as do 17% of moderates and 13% of liberals,\u201d the report said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe choice of Vance as Trump\u2019s running mate is approved by 58% of government employees, 48% of private sector workers, 54% of entrepreneurs, and 50% of retirees,\u201d the report said.<\/p>\n<p>And the senator has not been shy about giving his opinions since being selected as Trump\u2019s choice for vice president.<\/p>\n<p>Vance said that if Biden cannot run for office due to cognitive concerns, he should not continue serving as president.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEveryone calling on Joe Biden to *stop running* without also calling on him to resign the presidency is engaged in an absurd level of cynicism,\u201d Vance wrote on the X platform. \u201cIf you can\u2019t run, you can\u2019t serve.
