somewhat emotional<\/a>\u00a0during an interview with SiriusXM podcaster Megyn Kelly when he talked about his leaving Fox News and gave an update on his health following a cancer diagnosis.<\/p>\nBongino spoke about his departure in late April, which left many confused given it came around the same that Fox cut ties with top-rated host Tucker Carlson. Bongino said he left the network over a difference in vision for his show.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think a lot of people think this may be some kind of anti-Trump thing. I gotta say \u2014 that wasn\u2019t my case,\u201d Bongino said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was not targeted. My show, they were dying to re-up \u2014 we negotiated for an entire year. So I can\u2019t tell you like, \u2018Oh, Fox got rid of me,\u2019 because they didn\u2019t. The liberal jerk wads are gonna go, \u2018Oh Dan Bongino was fired.\u2019 I just give them the middle fingers. It\u2019s just stupid,\u201d Bongino said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI negotiate my own deals. I don\u2019t have an agent. I do my own business deals. I don\u2019t need any, I do my own business. They wanted the show. I just had a different vision for my role at the network and that\u2019s okay. I\u2019m not the Saturday guy, Megyn, I\u2019m sorry I can\u2019t work six days a week. I\u2019ve got young kids and I\u2019m not working six days a week. And even though we recorded the show on Friday, you know, the inside baseball of Fox, what happens when there\u2019s breaking news? Which with Trump out there is all the time \u2014 you gotta be on,\u201d Bongino concluded.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s hard \u2014 so I couldn\u2019t do it. And I said, \u2018I\u2019m sorry, that\u2019s not gonna work out.\u2019 So I definitely was not fired. Liberals are just making that up\u2026 but I\u2019m not the easiest guy to deal with Megyn,\u201d Bongino said.<\/p>\n
Bongino also fought back tears, discussing the day he found out he had cancer and the uphill battle it\u2019s been since that day in 2020.<\/p>\n
