Robin Roberts and her longtime partner Amber Laign are officially married!<\/p>\n
The couple tied the knot in a \u201cmagical\u201d backyard ceremony attended by family and friends on September 8.<\/p>\n
\u201cAn intimate, magical wedding ceremony in our backyard followed by a joyous reception\u2026ohhhh the dancing!!\u201d Roberts shared in an\u00a0Instagram<\/a>\u00a0Sunday. \u201cWe are immensely grateful to all for making it a day and a night to remember. Honeymoon here we come!\u201d<\/p>\n The\u00a0Good Morning America<\/em>\u00a0co-anchor first met Laign in 2005 after their mutual friends set them up on a blind date.<\/p>\n \u201cOur two friends, my friend Alex, her friend Bert, finally said, \u2018Enough, you two are going to meet,\u2019\u201d Laign told\u00a0GMA<\/em><\/a>\u00a0previously. \u201cI remember just walking up and she\u2019s just beautiful, and she took my breath away, and she still does.\u201d<\/p>\n Over the following 18 years, the women proved time after time they would always be there for one another.<\/p>\n Whether it was being there for their partner as they grieved the loss of a parent or celebrating hard fought battles against breast cancer and myelodysplastic syndrome.<\/p>\n
