a letter sent<\/a> to Texas Republican Rep. Tony Gonzales, the director said that a staggering 662,566 noncitizens with criminal histories, either convicted or with charges pending, have been caught and released into the United States on ICE\u2019s national docket.<\/p>\nOf those criminals and potential criminals, a whopping 13,099 have been convicted of homicide.<\/p>\n
The worst part is that those people are part of ICE\u2019s \u201cnon-detained docket,\u201d which means they are living among citizens as they await citizenship hearings, which most often take years.
\nAs of July 21, 2024, there were 662,566 noncitizens with criminal histories on ICE\u2019s national docket\u201413,099 criminally convicted MURDERS! Americans deserve to be SAFE in our own communities,\u201d the representative said on X, formerly Twitter.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are removing and returning record numbers of migrants who are unable to establish a legal basis to remain in the United States, and prioritizing for removal those who present national security and public safety risks, and recent border crossers,\u201d the director said in the letter. \u201cFrom mid-May 2023 through the end of July 2024, DHS removed or returned more than 893,600 individuals, including more than 138,300 individuals in family units. The majority of all individuals encountered at the Southwest Border over the past three years have been removed, returned, or expelled.\u201d<\/p>\n
The numbers are shocking as among the 662,566 noncitizens that have criminal histories, 435,719 have been convicted, and \u00a0226,847 are facing pending criminal charges.<\/p>\n
The acting director\u2019s letter also said that more than 15,800 noncitizens who have been convicted of sexual assault are on the non-detained docket. And the docket also contains close to 1,900 people with pending charges for homicide charges and more than 4,250 with pending sexual assault charges.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe just got these numbers moments ago, but it\u2019s a jaw-dropper, to say the least,\u201d Fox News reporter Bill Melugin said when reporting the news. \u201cAccording to a letter that the acting director of ICE just sent to Texas Congressman Tony Gonzalez, on ICE\u2019s non-detained docket, they\u2019re currently tracking 425,000 non-citizens who have been convicted of a crime. Of that number, over 13,000 non-citizens have convictions for homicide and are on the non-detained docket, meaning they\u2019re roaming the country right now.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn top of that, there are another 15,811 non-citizens convicted of sexual assault who are roaming the country right now on ICE\u2019s non-detained docket,\u201d he said. \u201cIt doesn\u2019t stop there. Those are convictions. The ICE director also says there are currently just under 1,900 non-citizens on the non-detained docket who have pending homicide charges who are roaming the country and another 4,250 non-citizens who have pending sexual assault charges who are roaming the country on the non-detained docket.\u201d<\/p>\n
