\u201cAnd it\u2019s very, very sad because who suffered?<\/span>\u00a0They were children from foster community.<\/span>\u00a0They didn\u2019t have a scholarship that somebody would provide for them.<\/span> They didn\u2019t want to do business with me because of political affiliation, my political beliefs,\u201d Melania added.<\/span><\/p>\n

In another part of the interview, Melania defended her husband against common media and left-wing criticisms of his character.<\/p>\n

What do you want to say to women who, may have a picture of President Trump in their heads, they think they know who he is. What do you want to say to them that they might not know about your husband?\u201d asked Fox News host Maria Bartiromo.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey need to know that he is passionate about this country, passionate about women and men as well, everybody. He wants to make their lives better safe, prosperous. He\u2019s warm, he loves people,\u201d the former first lady responded.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I understand<\/span>\u00a0that maybe sometimes they see him tough and some tweets maybe they would not like it and<\/span> they didn\u2019t like it. I understand that, but he needs to fight back, too. When he\u2019s attacked, he needs to fight back.<\/span> He only wants good for this country. The business of politics could be very mean and cutthroat,\u201d she noted further.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bartiromo also inquired about the Trump family\u2019s safety following two nearly successful assassination attempts.<\/p>\n

Melania expressed her trust in her own security detail but mentioned that she senses \u201csomething is going on\u201d with the Secret Service leadership that needs to be addressed. She also commended her husband for returning to Butler, Pennsylvania, just over two months after he was shot during a rally on July 13.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s great. I support him. And he is a fighter. He will never stop.<\/span>\u00a0He\u2019s on the go every day. He\u2019s helping this country.<\/span>\u00a0And he wants to make America great again, prosperous, safe and I think the people of this country support him tremendously,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Melania also said that her husband Donald was aware of her views on abortion rights \u201csince the day we met.\u201d<\/p>\n

In her upcoming memoir, Melania Trump talks about how she strongly believes that women should have autonomy over their bodies, which is a significant contrast to the Republican presidential nominee for 2024\u2019s stance on abortion.<\/p>\n

\u201cMelania,\u201d the autobiography of the former first lady, is scheduled to be released on October 8, precisely four weeks before Election Day.<\/p>\n

She told Bartiromo that she wrote in the book that it is \u201cimperative to guarantee\u201d that women have the freedom to choose whether or not to have children. She posted a similar remark on social media.<\/p>\n
