Becoming a parent opens us up to a realm of love that we didn\u2019t think possible. I can honestly say that the day I became a parent was the happiest day of my life \u2013 the instant I laid eyes upon my baby, I knew that my time on this Earth would never be the same again.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Of course, I\u2019m hardly alone in recognizing this sentiment: ask almost any parent across the world and they\u2019ll tell you the something similar.<\/p>\n

Sadly, this isn\u2019t the case for\u00a0all\u00a0<\/em>parents. There are those who are capable \u2013inexplicably, we might add \u2013 of abandoning, or worse, abusing, their children.<\/p>\n

One Paraguayan family has experienced both ends of the spectrum, and their story began with a lady named Do\u00f1a Ignacia, who, incidentally, turned 90 last year, in 2021.<\/p>\n

In her younger years, she had a son, Pablo Acu\u00f1a, only to realize not long after his birth that he wasn\u2019t developing as he should.<\/p>\n

\u201cI quickly realized that my son, at an early age, wasn\u2019t growing much,\u201d she explained<\/p>\n

Eventually, she and her husband took him to the hospital to find out what was wrong with him, and if there was anything that could be done to help him.<\/p>\n
