\nNo ambulance. No one by her side. She simply appeared at the entrance of the maternity ward \u2014 a pregnant woman, pale, shivering, her hands clutching her belly as if holding the last piece of herself together.<\/p>\n

She had no bag. No documents. Not even a name she was willing to give. She sat on the bench like a shadow, eyes fixed on the floor.<\/p>\n
