It should come as no surprise that the news of Kate\u2019s operation sparked an outpouring of opinions and views given her status and popularity. Although the official statement from the Royal Family said that the treatment was scheduled and that Kate was doing well, many were concerned that the future queen\u2019s condition might be worse than the Palace was letting on.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cHer Royal Highness The Princess of Wales was admitted to The London Clinic yesterday for planned abdominal surgery. The surgery was successful and it is expected she will remain in hospital for ten to fourteen days, before returning home to continue her recovery. Based on the current medical advice, she is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0the statement from Kensington Palace on its social media pages.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Princess of Wales appreciates the interest this statement will generate. She hopes that the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible; and her wish that her personal medical information remains private.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The statement continued:\u00a0\u201cKensington Palace will, therefore, only provide updates on Her Royal Highness\u2019 progress when there is significant new information to share. The Princess of Wales wishes to apologise to all those concerned for the fact she has to postpone her upcoming engagements. She looks forward to reinstating as many as possible, as soon as possible.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n
