It was almost midnight when I slowly lay down in bed. I had come from a long day at work and my body was almost weak. Adrian, my husband, was on the other side of the bed, still reading an email on his cellphone. I closed my eyes and pretended to be asleep, thinking that maybe he would hug me like before.<\/p>\n

But only a few minutes had passed, when I heard him take a deep breath. I thought he was just going to come down to get a drink of water, but instead he spoke\u2014weakly, almost in a whisper.<\/p>\n
