The custody battle was ugly. I fought for 50\/50 custody, but Patricia had this whole victim narrative prepared. Dance recitals, science fairs, school plays. I\u2019d find out about them through Facebook posts after the fact. When I\u2019d confront her, she\u2019d claim she told me, and I must have forgotten. Never had proof either way. She\u2019d schedule doctor appointments and parent-teacher conferences on days I had Olivia, then blame me for missing them when I couldn\u2019t take last-minute time off.<\/p>\n

She started telling Olivia that \u201cDaddy was too busy with work to come to her important events.\u201d A seven-year-old doesn\u2019t understand the difference between \u201ccan\u2019t make it because of malicious scheduling\u201d and \u201cdoesn\u2019t care enough to show up.\u201d<\/p>\n
