The butter will start to darken and you\u2019ll know it\u2019s time to remove it from the heat when it\u2019s amber in color.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1>INGREDIENTS:<\/h1>\n<p>\u00bd cup butter<br \/>\n2 cups brown sugar<br \/>\n2 eggs<br \/>\n2 teaspoons vanilla<br \/>\n1 \u00bd cups flour<br \/>\n1 teaspoon baking powder<br \/>\n1 teaspoon salt<br \/>\n1 \u00bd cups shredded sweetened coconut<\/p>\n<h1>PREPARATION:<\/h1>\n<p>Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and grease an 8\u00d78 baking dish.<br \/>\nAdd butter to a large saucepan over medium- high heat. Once butter begins to boil, continuously swirl pan to prevent burning. Continue until butter darkens to an amber color, then remove from heat.<br \/>\nAdd the brown sugar to the warm butter and stir until fully integrated. Mix in the eggs and vanilla.<br \/>\nAdd the flour, baking powder, and salt to the wet ingredients. Stir until combined.<br \/>\nFold coconut into the batter and then transfer to the prepared baking dish.<br \/>\nBake for 40-45 minutes, covering with foil for the last 10 minutes.
