Pauley Perrette suffered a \u201cmassive stroke\u201d a year ago.The former NCIS actress \u2013 who played Abby Sciuto for 15 seasons until leaving the show in 2018 \u2013 feels \u201cso grateful\u201d to be \u201cstill here,\u201d a year after going through a major medical emergency. <\/p>\n<\/section>\n

In a\u00a0Twitter post<\/a>, she wrote: \u201cIt\u2019s 9\/2. One year ago I had a massive stoke. Before that I lost so many beloved family and friends, and daddy, and then Cousin Wayne<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\u201cYet still a survivor after this traumatic life I\u2019ve been given so far\u2026And still so grateful, still so full of faith, and STILL HERE!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

In an accompanying video, the 53-year-old actress asked: \u201cHow many times do I cheat death?\u201d<\/p>\n

She went on to recall how she was hospitalised in 2014 after experiencing a severe allergic reaction to her character\u2019s hair dye, being attacked the following year by a homeless man, amongst other difficult times<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

She said: \u201c\u201dYes, I\u2019m still here, again. How many times do I cheat death? Like I almost died from a hair dye allergy. I have food allergies, I\u2019m a domestic violence and a rape survivor.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was assaulted by a crazy homeless person and almost died and I\u2019m still here. I\u2019m feeling really grateful and especially for all my rescue dogs that are over there. And I\u2019m here, I\u2019m still here, I feel good.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pauley retired from acting in 2020 after just one season of CBS sitcom \u2018Broke\u2019 and she told fans she has \u201cbeen through a lot\u201d since then, but will always be grateful for the good things in her life.<\/p>\n

She concluded: \u201cBeen through a lot in the last two years. Things that are harder than having a stroke. But I\u2019m still here. And I\u2019m still grateful.
