Adele demonstrated her deep connection with her fans when she paused her performance to defend a fan being harassed by security. During her show at Las Vegas’ Caesars Palace, fan Juan Pablo Lastra stood up and sang along, which drew repeated admonitions from security to sit down.

Frustrated by the security’s overzealous actions, Adele interrupted her song “I Drink Wine” to address the situation. She questioned from the stage, “What is going on with that young fan who’s been bothered so much since I came on for standing up? Why are you all bothering him?” She then instructed the security to leave him alone, adding, “They won’t bother you anymore, darling. You enjoy the show.”
