her memorable on-screen roles but also for the warmth and joy she brought to everyone who knew her. As we reflect on her life and career, we honor her lasting contributions to the entertainment world.

On May 7, the entertainment community mourned the loss of Susan Buckner, a beloved actress who passed away at 72. Buckner is fondly remembered for her role as Patty Simcox, the enthusiastic cheerleader in the beloved film «Grease,» alongside the late Olivia Newton-John. Her infectious energy and unforgettable performance endeared her to audiences of all ages.

A statement from the Buckner family revealed that she peacefully passed away on May 2, surrounded by loved ones. Family publicist Melissa Berthier stated, «Susan died peacefully on May 2, surrounded by loved ones.» Her daughter, Samantha Mansfield, expressed profound grief, describing her mother as her best friend and recalling the light Susan brought into every room. «She was magic, and I was very lucky to call her my best friend,» Samantha said.

Before her acting career, Susan Buckner found success as a beauty queen. In 1971, she was crowned Miss Washington and competed in the prestigious Miss America pageant, as reported by Deadline. Following her pageant days, Buckner became a member of The Golddiggers, an all-female singing and dancing troupe featured on The Dean Martin Show.

In her later years, Buckner devoted herself to mentoring young actors. She directed children’s theater at a Florida elementary school and taught dance at a gym in Coral Gables, inspiring many young talents.

Susan Buckner’s legacy endures. While her cause of death remains private, we remember her for the joy she brought to our screens and the lives she touched. She is survived by her two children, Samantha and Adam, four cherished grandchildren, and her longtime partner, Al.

Let us honor the memory of Susan Buckner, a remarkable actress and a treasured friend and mentor to many. May her light continue to shine through her work and the memories she left behind.
