A day later, the diagnosis came: lethargic sleep. A rare condition in which a person appears dead, but vital functions continue in a deeply slowed-down state.
Essentially — it’s a condition of deep sleep, similar to a coma, but with a chance of awakening.
It was later discovered that the examining doctor had made a mistake — he hadn’t detected the weak pulse. Her body temperature had dropped to nearly room temperature, and her breathing was barely noticeable.
She was officially declared dead, the death certificate was signed, and preparations for burial began.
If it hadn’t been for the mother’s desperate cry, if it hadn’t been for that final glance… the girl would have been buried alive.
Now she is in the hospital, in stable condition, and getting better with each passing day. Her mother hasn’t left her side and keeps repeating one thing:
— It was a miracle. And I felt it… in my heart.
