And now, before everyone’s eyes, he was humiliated and stripped of his dearest treasures.

The veteran’s lawyer rose. His voice rang out firmly:

— Your Honor, the defense has irrefutable proof of my client’s innocence.

He took out a flash drive and handed it to the court clerk. On the screen appeared footage from surveillance cameras of a nearby building. It was clearly visible: the theft had been committed by a completely different man. A young man in a hoodie, whose face was clearly captured by the cameras.

The courtroom gasped. The judge looked intently at the prosecutor, and for the first time, confusion flashed across his face.
