“I don’t care. Why did I even get married if my wife can’t even cook?”

The woman barely held back her tears. She didn’t have time to answer — new footsteps were heard in the hallway.

Her mother entered the room. She put her suitcase on the floor and stared silently at her son-in-law for a few seconds. Then she did something nobody expected — least of all him.  Continued in the first comment 

The mother-in-law stepped closer and, without a word, gave him a resounding slap. The sharp sound echoed through the silence.
