George Harvey Strait Sr. is a legendary American singer, songwriter, actor, and music producer. Born and raised in Poteet, Texas, on May 18, 1952, George’s journey in music began at a young age, shaped by the influences of great artists like the Beatles, Hank Thompson, and Frank Sinatra.
Growing up on his father’s cattle ranch, George discovered his love for music while attending Pearsall High School. He honed his skills by singing and playing in a rock and roll garage band, where he developed his unique style and sound. It was clear from the start that George had a talent that would take him places.
